Home Buying Advice

So, are yIndianapolis_Mortgageou ready to paint your walls any color you want? Park in your own garage? Mow your own lawn? Fix that air conditioner yourself? Congratulations! Taking that leap from renting to owning is a big decision. And now that you’ve made up your mind to be your own landlord, the real work begins.
There’s a lot of information available on the home buying experience to sift through and digest – and knowing how to navigate through it all is half the battle. As a new homeowner myself, I completely underestimated the preparation needed for a smooth home buying process.
Here are some tips I wish I would have known that can save time and money in the long run. Hopefully they help get you one step closer to owning the home of your dreams:

In the 18 or so months that I’ve been a homeowner, I’ve repaired holes in the wall, made new holes in the wall, and even contemplated removing some of those walls. I’ve built half of a shed, put down a new hardwood wood floor, and installed countless hooks and shelves in my garage. While home improvement projects will never end, and you’ll forever be making trips to the hardware store, there’s nothing more satisfying than knowing that it’s all yours.
