New Year’s Resolutions for Business Success

January 07, 2020 by Brighid Smith

Making New Year’s Resolutions is a great way to reflect on the previous year’s successes and areas of opportunity. Often times when people hear New Year’s resolutions, they think “spend less money”, “dedicate more time to family”, or “lose weight”; however, it’s important to set impactful business resolutions to keep you on track to hit your goals in the workplace. Here are a few great resolutions that can make gaining success in your business achievable:

  1. Make Business Planning a Weekly Event

Business planning allows you to take inventory of what’s working and what’s not, and it helps you to adjust your goals and reroute if need be. Take time each week to reflect on how close you are to hitting your goals and what might be holding you back. Have the confidence to ask for help when you need it and focus on sharing what’s working for you in order to help others achieve their goals.

  1. Learn Something New

Whether you’ve been in your position for a month or seven years, it’s easy to get stuck on auto-pilot. Take initiative to learn something new every single day. Learning new things helps you to get out of your comfort zone, resulting in improved ways of tackling daily tasks. This enhances your skillset and adds new areas of interest to your life.

  1. Promote Your Achievements Regularly

Self-promotion is a really great way to stay motivated throughout the year. Share your achievements with colleagues and friends alike. Oh, you hit your top sales goal this month? Great! Share a quick post on Facebook or LinkedIn letting others know! Not only will this help you to continue hitting those goals, it can also attract new customers and grow your current business.

Career

Focusing on these work-place resolutions will help you to win your day and keep you on track for success throughout the year.
