Our Team Volunteers at the Indianapolis Boys & Girls Club Thanksgiving

December 06, 2016 by Royal United

A team of Royal United Mortgage LLC. Volunteers served a Thanksgiving meal at the Legore Boys & Girls Club. It was a great experience for the team, the Boys & Girls Club staff, and the children and families who enjoyed the meal.

Here’s what some of the volunteers at Royal United Mortgage LLC. had to say about the event!

“I loved the way our team showed up and was ready and willing to do anything asked of them. RUM was well represented with smiling faces eager to serve. “  —  Cindy

“The opportunity to help out at the Boys & Girls Club was so gratifying. Seeing the children’s faces light up when they got their Thanksgiving dinner and dessert was priceless. It reminds you how much we take for granted and how valuable it is when you are treated after such a hard time in your life and you have people like Royal United Mortgage to show how much we appreciate each individual. I enjoyed every second serving the families and being surrounded by great people.”
– Victoria

“It was so much fun being able to see the smiles on the children’s faces, when they were allowed to have as much food as they wanted!! Some of them you could tell were sooooo hungry and wouldn’t have had a Thanksgiving without the help of the high school kids cooking for them.  They were so sweet and thankful, and I’m so happy to have been able to be a part of that.”
– Alyx

“This event was a nice chance to come together and participate in a special opportunity for our community. This experience also allowed me to connect with other people from RUM who I don’t get to interact with on a daily basis. The children and families were extremely kind and the overall atmosphere of the night was wonderful. I am extremely glad I was able to participate.”
– Nicholas

“Who knew that passing out cookies would be such a joy! Being able to put smiles on all the kids’ faces was a wonderful feeling because you never really know what struggles a family may be experiencing. It is a tough situation to face when trying to help so being able to give back when it means the most was a great experience at the Legore Boys & Girls club Thanksgiving dinner.”
– Mylanna

“The group I was in mostly handled the desserts.  It was really great seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces as they loaded up their plates. There were a few little kids who came back for seconds on the dessert table and one even said it made her day when she was allowed to get another cookie.  Honestly it’s so humbling and blows my mind that food can be that impactful and important.”
– Julia

“The Boys and Girls club was a great experience.  To be able to serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal to not only the kids, but also their families was very rewarding.” –
Sam

“I’m grateful to have had this opportunity to serve alongside my colleagues and give back to our community. We are fortunate and I’m happy our team was able to support the club with their Thanksgiving meal. I have never seen so much pie all in one place and kids love desert!”
